PLAZA DE COLÓN
Plaza de Colón.
The Plaza de Colón (Columbus Square) and the Jardines del Descubrimiento (Discovery Gardens) are dedicated to the discovery of the New World.
On the west side facing the Paseo de la Castellana stands Christopher Columbus monument which was erected in 1885.
Facing Calle the Serrano to the east, there are four massive stone blocks designed by Joaquín Vaquero Turcios that commemorate the discovery of America in 1492 by Columbus.
Nearest metro stations: Colón and Serrano (Line 4).
